C-Suite is a common term used for top corporate executives, their titles start with the letter C, as in Chief Executive Officer. Those in C-Suite positions are considered the most influential people in a company. Their roles are demanding and they must possess personal characteristics such as competitiveness, strong leadership and abilities from experience and/or education in related business disciplines. The CEO’s role is to provide company vision and to inform and motivate their colleagues. The CEO illustrates a pathway for the organization to grow.
C-Suite leaders know that facing change head-on is part of business growth. Senior management and their teams must have a clear view of how the strategic vision will be understood and executed. Their ability to articulate the vision throughout all levels of the organization is key to achieving a growth plan and sustaining results.
Let’s take this critical business concept to small business. As an owner, president of your company and/or CEO, your role is just like the corporate CEO; to form and communicate your strategic vision. You do this to build a course of action for developing your client base and expanding your market share. You must communicate your strategic vision to your managers and their teams. This means no person or position is left out, and the vision generates a connective vibe across all department as you lead the way to achieving your performance goals.
Over twenty years of working with leaders our best advice is this; don’t keep your strategic vision at the top of your organization, share it, and then connect it to every human effort within your company. Make every person influential in achieving your Shared Vision.
